Bio

 

Jim received his Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University in 2001. Jim has a broad range of training in diverse areas of clinical practice.He received post-graduate training through the Object Relations Institute for Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis in New York and is currently in Level II training at the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute in Colorado specializing in somatic approaches to processing trauma and other psychic conflicts. Jim completed several seminars at the CG Jung Institute of New York, and has received training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. Jim has also received training in psychological first aid and disaster field response, as well as training in the understanding and management of Hoarding Disorder. He has worked in community mental health and inpatient psychiatry settings in New York and in Colorado.  Jim has provided numerous educational presentations to community organizations and service providers on a variety of mental health issues.
